COM 111 A normal business environment involves deadlines and targets that have to be reached. Businesses will go to extraordinary lengths to reach their goals, although they will try to do it as ethically and legally as possible. However, there are three principles of a normal business environment: cash, service, and execution (Anderson). The one thing that is common among these three is that over exaggerations will be made. In a normal business environment, extraordinary superlatives are not just possible; they are the norm.

Businesses are always trying to make their successes sound better than they actually are, while downplaying their weaknesses. For the first principle, cash, or profit, is virtually the sole thing that drives a business to compete. It has not got anything to do with employee rights or looking after the environment; organizations are in business to make money and that is exactly what they go after. Superlatives are used to describe financial targets because a business always needs to look like it is improving rather than losing money.

Another key component is customer service. Companies are always proclaiming how great their customer service is because it makes the company look better by giving them a greater brand image. Superlatives are the norm here because the customer is number one when it comes to business. The last principle, execution, is perhaps the hardest one to exaggerate because the results are there for everyone to see. Even so, businesses will try to play up just how successful their latest marketing strategy was by announcing to everyone that it was a success no matter the actual outcome.

Above all, we can say that extraordinary superlatives form the backbone of any normal business environment. When it comes to creativity, entrepreneurs are the only ones who can think outside of the box. That is because their whole job description entails risk—and this is a key part of creativity. In normal business environments, creativity has always been seen as a negative because it does not fit a confined space (Chun). Entrepreneurs need to be given the freedom to pursue new products and markets.

They will likely have some failures along the way, but if they can even find one success, they will have made a name for themselves. It is for this reason that entrepreneurs often work alone because businesses cannot afford to hire someone that may produce nothing after months and months of work. Entrepreneurs usually quit their jobs so they can pursue their own dreams and goals. If businesses were to become more creative-minded, then hiring entrepreneurs would be very important. While anyone has the ability to come up with creative ideas, entrepreneurs are best suited for this because many of their characteristics are already geared towards these types of roles.

Entrepreneurs are the people who are the backbone of the economy—without them the economy would not be as highly skilled as it is today. Works Cited Anderson, Lisa.
