Listening enables one to communicate with other effectively; thus minimising social conflicts that are likely to occur in the learning institution. Performance Indicator/Critical Analysis The criteria used involves monitoring the progress of students especially their communication skills in order to determine in case they are capable of communicating both verbally and non-verbally. As a Spanish teacher, it is significant to take into consideration communication arts such as reading, writing, listening and speaking. Too much verbal communication and listening may be disregarded as literary aspects that take priority (Connor and Pokora (2007, p. 62). Speaking and listening skills can be examined in other content areas beside communication arts. Therefore, I will assess speaking and listening skills in meaningful situations by distributing scoring guides to students when assigning them classroom presentations. Another performance indicator is supporting and expanding learner expression in speaking Spanish, writing, reading and listening, and in this regard, use of visual arts is crucial in enhancing comprehensive reading, writing, listening and communication skills of students. Therefore, I will incorporate visual arts in the classroom and this will enable me to determine in case students are making significant progress not only in reading comprehension but also in writing, listening and communication skills. Assessing class performance plan through a scheduled discussion or meetings with students or other staff members at which effective comprehensive or constructive feedback will be evaluated on the performance of students. The discussion will focus on key or specific areas for improvements, as well as, proper learning outcomes for the next performance cycle. This is vital because it will enable the educator to develop a new performance plan including proper professional action plan. -Providing class examination tests in order to determine in case the students are able to perform better in the Spanish language. -Carrying out assessment programs and writing reports every week regarding the progress of students. -Asking questions in the classroom and allowing students to interact through classroom discussions. Use of classroom discussions is a vital strategy because it improves the communication, listening skills and contributes to comprehensive reading in the classroom. -Listen and communicate effectively with students, as well as, offer instructions as these are among the effective performance indicators for determining success in the learning environment. -Explains points clearly in details and give constructive feedback in order to increase effective learning performance. -Listing priorities for effective learning progress and suggesting significant actions. -Collecting data that will be used for identifying and making effective plan for the necessary alterations or modifications of the instructional teaching program. Proposed Future Actions I intend to develop effective communication skills in order to become a successful educator who communicates effectively across the organisation. Amason (2011, p. 71) argues that effective communication skills is the key aspect for creating organizational change. This is because effective communication can enable the leader to create mutual rapport not only with employees but also with customers; thus increasing organizational performance. Serban and Friedlander (2010, p. 122) argue that communication in the 21st century has significantly changed; thus creating effective skills development plan is nowadays valued across learning intuitions. Therefore, I will utilize visual aids to help Spanish students to better understand the information or message being conveyed in order to facilitate effective listening and communication skills. I intend to develop effective listening skills because it is through listening skills that one may become a successful educator. This is because effective listening enables one to solve issues and offer effective solutions to the problems. Listening enables one to communicate with other effectively; thus minimising social conflicts that are likely to occur in working environment. Developing significant listening skills vital for breaking communication barriers and solving conflicts that may arise within the workplace will be of great significant. Connor and Pokora (2007, p. 127) points out that effective listening skills are crucial in conflict resolution; thus contributing to successful organizational performance. To develop effective communication skills, once should be attentive because it makes positive differences; therefore, I will utilize this new skill to guide students effectively. This is imperative because I will achieve my career aspirations successfully. I will establish a coherent focus on achieving classroom or school stated objectives through using system-thinking approach and creating or having diverse list of learning priorities, which will be changed frequently, as well as, monitored frequently. Successful teacher is the one on understands and focuses on school objectives or align the mission with the objectives as this will create improvements in the learning environment. Understanding the part of the classroom that connects with education system is a critical aspect for achieving the organisation goals successfully. I will also employ effective listening skills in directing education reports through listening carefully from organizational members. Effective listening skills are necessary aspects for educators because they will contribute to successful teaching activities. -Investigating opportunities and carrying out assessment regarding the progress of the students is also imperative performance indicator. Moreover, I will implement an action plan for tracking changes in the learning environment through learning and talent development; thus creating organizational change. Management action plan is significant because it will enable the educator to not only create transformation but also improve organizational performance in the future. Resources -Use of computers to support e-learning in order to improve communication and listening skills, as well as foster comprehensive reading and writing skills. -Visual communication arts such as charts, graphs, and other necessary visual materials for creating effective comprehensive communication skills. Duration for Completion of each Key action -This will take approximately one month, and this will be next year on April 2014. Rationale Utilizing instructional practices such as encouraging interdependence among students in diverse groups whereby the coach practices include a comprehensive and supportive message among students and the coaching staff members. The clarity of the classroom involves clear communications, coherent explanations, clear expectations and integration of course structure. Implementing and monitoring of diverse classroom activities by clearly stating the curricular objectives and making significant efforts of collecting, as well as, analyzing accurate data about the achievement of students in relation to school goals is crucial. Therefore, paying attention to priority objectives and core learning principles or values will be of great significant because they will contribute to successful organizational performance. To achieve the above goal, acknowledge the key strengths and identify the weaknesses areas, which may pose threat to future career is imperative. This is vital because it will enable one to find effective solutions for improving the weaknesses; thereby, minimising any potential risk that may arise in the learning institution. Effective communication will enable educator to solve internal and external conflicts arising in the learning environment successfully. Therefore, as an educator, listening carefully and responding to any problems impacting students will be of great significant. This is necessary because it will enable one to convey information verbally and in writing form; thereby, contributing to organizational change. Learning Target 2 To develop effective teamwork learning skills vital for working together as a team in order to accomplish the organisation mission successfully. Performance Indicator/critical Analysis Grouping students and assigning them class work assignments; thus encouraging them to work with others in various groups. This is vital because it will enable the educator to determine the extent students are able to work together and the way they can improve their performance through effective teamwork learning. I will serve as example through working together with the staff members by being an exemplarily to other workmates by teaching peace and cohesion to my fellow teaching staff members. Creating a collaborative or a teamwork problem solving, as well as, promoting open communication are also crucial performance indicators. Connor and Pokora2007, p. 34) argue that promoting a collaborative learning environment is an imperative method for creating a successful learning environment. This is because the achievement or performance of least student’s learning outcomes are likely to be higher in an environment where educators and students work together as a team. -Offer supportive classroom interaction and relate positively to groups in order to encourage high collaborative work. -Manages students’ behaviors, observes, intervenes appropriately and apply classroom or school rules to create an effective learning environment. -Communicating the vision and mission of the school, as well as, strategic goals or ongoing progress for attaining the stated objectives to all community members of the school is vital. -Collecting information and recording down those students who demand special attention as this will enable the educator to make significant changes to the instruction teaching plan. Proposed Future Actions I intend to develop effective teamwork learning skills because teamwork is significant in my future employment due to diverse benefits. Teamwork has evolved for the past decades as a vehicle for effective work performance in the working areas and it continues to emerge as the key to effective learning outcomes in the learning institutions. It is through effective teamwork that one will solve organizational problems successfully. Amason (2011, p. 90) points out that collaboration enables workforce to develop distinctive skills vital for creating managerial change. I intend to employ significant teaching measures in the future in order to promote a better learning environment. In the learning institution, employing effective teaching measures is crucial in justification concept of teamwork as it will enable organization to improve productivity; thus achieve effective learning outcomes. Effective teamwork is one of the effective teaching strategies that can enable students to accomplish tasks in time and achieve the organizational missions successfully. One person may take time to accomplish a give task, but many people can accomplish work faster. Moreover, teamwork enables people to solve problem and make decisions faster; this is because many people make contributions and offer mutual support; thus reaching the desired decisions faster. I will develop collaborative learning skills because this will contribute to effective interactions process among diverse students; thereby, promoting effective learning skills. Serban and Friedlander (2010, p. 133) argue that collaborative learning skill in the classroom can be grounded into an assumption that engaging in social classroom interaction processes about a certain task or problem can enhance reflective thinking among the participants; thereby, acquisition of knowledge. Collaboration learning across its manifestations can include peer discussion or peer tutorial; hence, these aspects have been found to be positively correlative with problem solving. This is fundamental because it contribute to long-term knowledge retention, concept applications, successful knowledge achievements, sensitivity among students and positive attitudes towards a particular subject. For instance, in Spanish language teaching, collaborative learning has significantly gained recognition as a promising and effective teaching method for developing relevant classroom work related competencies. It is through teamwork that I can develop a health competition in the learning environment. Amason (2011, p. 121) reveals that developing a healthy competition can enable educators to motivate other teaching staff members; thus encouraging them to become productive. Teamwork can enable employees to develop unique talents and relationships vital for increasing organizational performance. Each member possesses unique quality; thus, when they can help an organization to become fruitful in future because of sharing different valuable ideas. I intend to develop creative and innovative team in the future in order to develop passionate on the way I handle diverse task in the learning institution. This is considerable because they will enable me to develop valuable skills for achieving my career goals successfully. Plummer (2011, p.68) argues that carrying out research and learning innovative or creative ideas is noteworthy because they contribute towards better learning outcomes. Resources Use 360° feedback device and other evaluation tools for evaluating collaboration-learning skills across the student groups. Duration for Completion of each Key action -This action will take three one month and three weeks, it will begin on February 2014 and end on April 2014. Rationale Teamwork is an indispensable aspect in various working environment; hence, there is a need to advance my teamwork learning skills in order to create a competent learning environment. Adapting teaching competence model can create successful classroom experience where students are able to compete favorably; thus producing better results. Employing effective teamwork skills can enable one to work with others well towards improving organizational performance. Therefore, to achieve the above goal, I will employ unique teamwork learning skills to become competitive in the learning environment. Moreover, through motivation of students or staff members in teamwork, I will work hard towards meeting the organization needs; thus achieving effectively my career aspirations. Task 3: PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN Specific Goals Goal 1: To improve teaching skills through training programs that will help me perform the profession better; however, the professional development activities, which I plan will be training on effective teaching strategies. Reason for Selecting This Goal The reason for choosing this objective is because improving teaching skills is the key to successful learning outcomes. Therefore, it will enable the educator to make significant changes in teaching behavior, which will improve the student performance level. Specific Actions Associated With the Achievement of the Above Goal The specific action for achieving the stated goal is putting superior integration in teaching programs and organizational learning, as well as, developing talent on teaching activities such as handling students effectively, delivering effective learning outcomes, planning and managing activities well in the learning institution. Serban and Friedlander (2010, p. 79) argue that educators have significant roles of implementing the most efficient teaching or learning strategies in their classrooms. This is imperative because it can help them to strive for consistent, high quality classroom teaching, which will enable them to deliver improvements in students learning skills and directly impact on the students, as well as, the government education outcomes or targets. I will improve my teaching skills especially on effective Spanish teaching approaches in order to provide better assistance to learners with special needs. This is through focusing on current teaching practices by involving in trained development services such as seminars, workshops and instructional sessions. I will acquire knowledge and advance my skills through attending training programs, as it is vital because it will enable me to acquire necessary knowledge for collecting data, developing material and putting in place individualized learning or behavior plans, which are appropriate for students with learning disabilities such as autism students. Learning and training on the way to manage organizational problems or crisis and solving problems effectively. This is through making decisions wisely in order to improve performance in the learning institution and planning effectively in order to drive the institution towards change. Talent development efforts are also vital and this through increasing time spent in development activities in the learning institution. Talent development is significant because it contributes to better academic performance because it enables students to improve their learning abilities in key significant areas. Resources - Making use of reflective assessment or audit tools -Exemplar resources Time Frame for Achievement of the Above Goal The above goal will take two to three months and it will start on January of next year and end on March on the same year. Goal 2: To find out effective intervention strategies vital for incorporating in teaching programs especially response to intervention methods into the Spanish classroom in order to enable students with learning disabilities to meet their demanding needs successfully. Reason For Selecting This Goal The reason for choosing this objective is because use of intervention strategies in teaching students has become one of the effective strategies for enabling educators to teach students with learning disabilities effectively. This is significant because it will enable students to achieve their desired education outcome successfully. Specific Actions Associated With The Achievement Of The Above Goal Training students using intervention strategies to enable to connect with classroom environment; thus enabling them to achieve better learning outcomes. This is through finding multiple strategies for improving and reflecting upon the Spanish classroom instruction; thus becoming a better mentor to other educators by participating in appropriate professional development services. Providing students effective services and incorporating computer assisted or technology based learning strategies. This is crucial because it will contribute to successful performance; thus enabling students to meet their demanding learning needs effectively. Technology-based learning strategy is an effective intervention strategy for training students with learning disabilities. This is because it substantially transforms the way education or learning process takes place; thus fostering greater accessibility and understanding of students with learning disabilities. Lastly, encouraging classroom team work and developing also strong team in order to enable them to achieve the stated objectives effectively. This includes aspects such as allowing classroom discussions through motivating learners to work hard towards delivering effective learning outcomes. Resources Use of good practice guiding or training materials such as teaching guide books and also distributes textbooks to students. Time Frame for Achievement of the Above Goal This goal will be achieved within one month; and it will begin on earlier April and end on May. This is when the educator has already established and evaluated proper teaching strategies. Goal 3: Promoting collaboration among teaching staff members to better align the school curriculum by leading professional staff committees targeting wide range planning for services to students with special learning needs Reason for Selecting This Goal The reason for choosing this goal is because collaboration or teamwork is an effective approach towards developing skills or competencies for transformative learning environment; thus creating a competitive learning environment. Specific Actions Associated With the Achievement of the Above Goal Reviewing the way enhanced teamwork learning skills have benefited students and taking note on key areas that is not competitive. This is vital because it will enable one to advance skills; thus enabling students to become productive in the future. Many students have not been able to keep up or meet the demanding needs of the working institutions because of poor implementation of strategies employed by varied educators in the learning organisations. Though, teamwork integration or enhancing collaboration, as well as, performance skills into the Spanish core curriculum is imperative. This is because it will offer students opportunities to polish their performance skills; thus laying emphasis on practical and theoretical training will contribute to better learning outcomes. -Organizing workshops, seminars and encouraging effective collaboration or teamwork in order to enable teaching staff members to work together towards delivering high quality learning outcomes -Communicating effectively across the learning institution as this will contribute to better collaboration in the working environment. Amason (2011, p. 123) argues that effective communication is vital when working together as a team because it solves conflicts of interest that might arise. -Using career or professional goals to advance the skills of students through working as a team in order to promote competency level; thus delivering effective services to students Resources Supporting teamwork and holding meetings or discussions for the groups to reach a consensus agreement or make effective discussions, use of sub-divide groups and provision of regular consensus resources is vital.
