Tompkins highlights the issue of proper implementation of these models. The author argues that implementation strategies make the most important part of the application of these models in an organization (Tompkins, 2005). According to Tompkins (2005) coordinating work, activities are only achievable by specific strategies. These strategies are not defined under the general function of the management team. He further justifies his argument by highlighting the six mechanisms of controlling and coordinating work activities.

Tompkins also insists on the issue of implementation of these mechanisms. Implementation of the mechanism will greatly determine the success of the strategy in the organization. However, he points out that the management team has the sole responsibility for ensuring that the six factors are properly implemented and functional (Tompkins, 2005). Tompkins concludes the chapter by touching on the issues of employee motivation. He argues that employee motivation is the most important tool in the human resources department.

In his perspective, he highlights four specific strategies that an organization may use to motivate their employees. The four strategies include the strategy on proper awarding systems which is the most significant strategy in the four strategies.
